Drip Pan Catch Bottle Kit, Rotax 914
Ever notice the oil running down the sides of the turtledeck towards the tail section? This oil accumulates in the turbo section while the engine sits. Upon startup the oil is sucked into the airbox, whereby some of it is burned within the cylinders. However, some of this oil collects in the Airbox, and drains out of the orifice. Rotax installations show routing this drain tubing to the Carb Drip Pan and the Airbox, with the other end extending under the motor mount where the oil drips onto the airframe.
Our Drip Pan Catch Bottle Kit contains a 4 oz bottle (for each side of the engine) with enough tubing to connect a brass hose T to the Drip Pan and the Airbox. When the bottles fill, simply slide the bottles out of the tiewraps, and properly dispose of the oil. Then reattach the bottles and insert the Brass Hose T into the bottle cap.
